Identit-e, LLC is committed to safeguarding the privacy of all visitors to www.identit-e.com (the "Web site"). We have posted this Privacy Policy to help you understand what information we are gathering and how we will use it. We believe your personal privacy on the Internet is a fundamental right, and we are committed to clear, open and accessible privacy policies.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy "we", "our" and "us" refers to Identit-e, LLC and any reference to "you" or "“your" means you, the User.

You should be aware that this Privacy Policy only applies to the Web site identit-e.com and not to other Web sites that we provide links to.

We hope that you feel our Privacy Policy explains clearly how we gather and use any data we may collect from you on our Web site. We have used our best efforts to compose a policy that is fair, respectful and protects your privacy online. Your feedback is important to us. Please email any questions, comments or suggestions to privacy@identit-e.com

Identit-e is a member of the VeraSafe Website Privacy Program, which means that VeraSafe has assessed Identit-e’s data governance for compliance with the VeraSafe Website Privacy Program Certification Criteria. The certification criteria require that participants maintain a high standard for data privacy and implement specific best practices pertaining to notice, choice, access, data integrity, security, and third-party information sharing.

Identit-e, LLC additionally seeks compliance with the major privacy regulations in effect around the world, including specifically those of the United States, Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, and the European Union (collectively the Data Protection Regulations).

These Data Protection Regulations spell out certain individual privacy rights to which Identit-e, LLC is committed, including, but not limited to the right to be informed, the right to be notified, the right to access, the right to correction, the right to deletion, the right to restrict, the right to object, and the right to lodge a complaint.

1. Information we collect from you and learn about you

The Personally Identifiable Information collected and processed by Identit-e, LLC is premised on Consent (where you have given clear consent to process personal data for a specific purpose), and Contract (where the processing is necessary to contract or as part of a preliminary step to contract with Identit-e, LLC).

You may be able to visit parts of this Web site without telling us who you are or revealing any information about yourself. In order to visit other parts of this Web site we may need to collect Personally Identifiable Information to complete verification of your eligibility to obtain access to discounted products, related promotions or information that you request. We may collect information from you through the use of online forms, through web analytics software, and through email, telephone, fax and mail correspondence which we have with you. The information collected from you may include but is not limited to:

  • Your name, address, email address, and birth date
  • Information verifying your status, which may be provided to us in the form of school ID cards, report cards, transcripts, tuition bills, paycheck stubs, and similar verification documents. These documents will often contain additional information about you, including your grades, area of study, financial status, student status, and other associated information

As part of our verification services, we also consider the domain and country of origin of your IP address (in order to provide an experience better tailored to your region’s primary language). We may also compare the information you provide against third-party databases and representations to confirm your identity. Both of these processes may tell us more about you, to these limited extents, than you provide directly.

2. Opt-In
This Web site requires users to provide us with certain Personally Identifiable Information (such as listed above) in order to provide the user with eligibility verification services. The Web site requires users to actively select whether they choose to give us permission to share any Personally Identifiable Information with the product or service provider, and whether the user wishes to receive promotional communications from the product or service provider. The product or service provider may with your consent offer you the opportunity to receive email updates and announcements concerning our services, special promotions and product information. Information that you have provided to us may be used to facilitate those communications if you have given permission for this type of sharing with third parties. You may also at any time later change the consent option you chose by contacting Customer Service

You will find that it is not compulsory to provide us with any additional information we request which is not necessary or reasonable in order to provide you with the services you have requested. Furthermore, please note that our policy is not to ask for some types of personal data—that is, data relating to race or ethnic origin, political opinion, religious or other similar beliefs, trade union membership, physical or mental health, sexual orientation, or criminal records. We recommend that you do not provide such information to us. If you choose to do so for any reason, this will mean that you have given (and we accept) your explicit consent for us to use that information for the reasons described in this policy, or as explained at the time you provide the information.

Identit-e, LLC provides "Partnership" Web sites, which offer entities a business right to access and use Personally Identifiable Information collected by the Licensee's Web site.

  • Identit-e, LLC Web sites provide authorization services for purchasers of Partners' products or services.
  • Personally Identifiable Information will be shared with the Partner that provides the product or service for which authorization is requested and that partner will receive information related to that authorization request.
  • The Opt-In consent rights and process described above apply to Identit-e, LLC and its Partners alike.

3. Use of information collected
Personally Identifiable Information that we collect is used to determine your eligibility to purchase or use products or services.

When Personally Identifiable Information, such as your name and email address, is collected from you with your consent (for example, through the use of online forms or via email, etc.) we generally let you know at the time of collection how we will use that personal information. We may use the personal information you provide or which we collect via this Web site for the purposes of:

  • providing validation codes that you have requested from us;
  • responding to your inquiries or to process your requests in relation to your information;
  • providing and personalizing our services generally;
  • carrying out market research campaigns or surveys (always voluntary);
  • maintaining information as a reference tool or general resource;
  • making the Web site easier for you to use and providing you with access to all parts of the Web site;
  • helping you to quickly find services and information on the Web site; and
  • where necessary, crime prevention and prosecution of offenders.

As part of our services, we occasionally encounter situations where we cannot verify your identity, which may prevent you, in turn, from obtaining access to certain business partner goods or services accessible through Identit-e, LLC. In those cases, we will also communicate to you the general basis for our inability to verify, and, as applicable, indicate the outside party information upon which we are relying so you can follow-up with that outside party should you wish to request a correction to your information.

Except with your permission or as provided herein, Identit-e, LLC will not sell, trade or rent personal information about you to unaffiliated third parties. We may use third party vendors to perform certain services on our behalf, such as hosting our Web site, maintaining, enhancing, or adding to the functionality of our Web site, operating our Web site’s features, tracking web analytics data, or performing other administrative services. We may share your Personally Identifiable Information with these third-party vendors solely to enable them to perform the services for us. In providing such information, we require that those third-party vendors maintain at least the same level of confidentiality that we maintain for such information. We only retain your information for that period considered reasonably necessary, based its nature and purpose.

With your consent, Partner product or service providers may use your information to contact you for your views on our services and to notify you occasionally about important changes or developments to the Web site.

We reserve the right to disclose your Personally Identifiable Information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site.

5. Business Transitions
If our business enters into a joint venture with or is sold to or merged with another business entity, your information may be disclosed to our new business partners or owners. We will provide you with appropriate notice before such a transition occurs. To the greatest extent possible, any such sale or merger shall include the preservation of the promises made in this Privacy Policy.

7. Children's Privacy Policy

We collect date of birth from all users and if a user indicates they are under 13 we will only authenticate their product code and give them on the site their validation code. We do not collect more information from children than what is necessary to fulfill the child's request.

8. Data retention, security of information collected, internet based transfers and disclaimer
The Web site uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to transmit all information between our Web site and your browser or between your browser and our Web site.
